Lund Havn

Lund Havn is one of the oldest small harbours in Denmark, situated on the Baltic coast of Stevns, and carries significant historical and cultural importance alongside its present-day role as a vibrant community and artistic hub. It forms part of a network of historic Danish fishing harbours that have supported coastal communities for centuries, preserving traditions of small-scale fishing, craftsmanship, and maritime life.

The harbour has been a site of maritime activity for generations and has also played a role in several historic and regional conflicts. During the Second World War, Lund Havn was part of the wider network of Danish coastal escape routes used in the rescue of Danish Jews. Notably, the fishing boat Ternen departed from this area, helping transport Jewish refugees safely across the Øresund to Sweden during the Rescue of the Danish Jews.

Today, Lund Havn functions as an active cultural and community meeting point, as a natural pearl in the south of Stevns. The site includes several historic fisherman’s houses – notably “Ottos Hus”: The buildings retain their original character while offering simple, authentic spaces for community gatherings.

During the summer months, the harbour hosts many community events: Amongst these a petanque tournament, fishing competitions, and summer concerts, creating a distinctive performance setting.
