Vanhakylä mansion was founded in 1751 by Crown County Sheriff Henrik Packalén.

During the civil war in 1918 the old main house was burnt down, and the city board chairman Vanhakylä was imprisoned, but managed to escape. After the second World War, the mansion was run down. At the end of the 20th century the mansion and the park with surrounding buildings were restored. The current owner sir Wilhelm von Nandelstadh with his family has owned the estate since 2018.

Currently Vanhakylä mansion is famous for its apple juicery.
