Trio Kosmos

Founded in December 2024, Trio Kosmos—violinist Xenia Rubin, cellist Rahel Rupprechter, and pianist Elžbieta Liepa—is a visionary piano trio studying with Stefan Mendl at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In its first season, the ensemble performed in Salzburg, Linz, and Vienna, including the prizewinners’ concert of the „Spiegelungen“ competition, premiering Hao Lin’s unendliche Resonanz. Their programs combine classical and contemporary works, with an emphasis on female composers and staged dramaturgy exploring individuality, limitation, and connection. Members bring extensive professional experience: Rubin was 3rd concertmaster of the Tiroler Symphonieorchester, Rupprechter is a member of the Munich Chamber Orchestra and co-creates inn.wien, and Liepa is a laureate of international piano competitions. Trio Kosmos combines sensitivity, courage, and contemporary relevance to create a fresh European chamber music voice.
