Susato Trio

The Susato Trio, founded in May 2022 by violinist Sarah Bayens, cellist Mikko Pablo, and pianist Markiyan Popil, is named after 16th-century composer Tielman Susato. Passionate about sharing music widely, the ensemble performs both standard piano trio repertoire and lesser-known works from history. They won 1st prize at the Generation Classique Competition 2022, 1st prize and the audience award at the Supernova Chamber Music Competition 2024, and 3rd prize at the Premio Trio di Trieste 2024. Currently, the trio pursues chamber music master’s studies through the European Chamber Music Academy, a collaborative program between conservatories in The Hague, Vienna, Paris, Oslo, Vilnius, Manchester, and Fiesole.
