Praised as “a model of technical discipline, elegance and musical excellence” (La Croix), Quatuor Magenta is a Paris-based string quartet whose members met at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Shaped by diverse international backgrounds across Europe and North America, the ensemble is recognised for its balance, flexibility and spontaneity.
Quatuor Magenta performs on major stages including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Festival Radio France Montpellier and the Banff Centre, while remaining strongly committed to outreach performances in non-traditional settings. Deeply rooted in the quartet tradition, the ensemble places a special focus on modern and contemporary repertoire, regularly programming works by women composers and creating imaginative dialogues between canonical and lesser-known works. Quatuor Magenta is junior artist-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation and grand résident at ProQuartet, and performs on the “quatuor de Vougeot” by Stefan Peter Greiner.
