The Quartetto Alioth is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chamber Music in the class of Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartett) at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Founded in 2019 at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, the ensemble consists of Matilde Urbani and Sofia Morano (violins), Anna Avilia (viola) and Margherita Pasquini (cello).
The quartet has taken part in advanced training programmes with leading European string quartets and was selected for the Casa del Quartetto residency of the Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. Since 2022, it has been part of the network Le Dimore del Quartetto and has participated in projects of the European Chamber Music Academy, including a staged production of Haydn’s The Seven Last Words.
Quartetto Alioth regularly performs in major Italian festivals and concert series and collaborates with prominent Tuscan orchestras alongside its chamber music activity.
