Otilka Quartet
The Netherlands
Founded in September 2020 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the Otilka Quartet is an international ensemble bringing together musicians from the Netherlands, Portugal and Italy. The quartet consists of Iris van Nuland (violin I), Lucien Renette (violin II), Francisca Galante (viola) and Stefano Bruno (cello). After early studies with Dmitri Ferschtman, Peter Brunt and Ed Spanjaard, they currently study with Judith van Driel and Sven Tepl, and have worked with members of leading European quartets.
In 2025, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Kersjesprijs by Het Kersjesfonds and became the postgraduate quartet of the Dutch String Quartet Academy. Prizewinner at the Triomphe de l’Art Competition in Brussels, the Otilka Quartet performs regularly in major Dutch concert halls, including the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Alongside core repertoire, the quartet is strongly committed to 20th-century and contemporary music, with a special focus on Dutch composers, and is currently working on the complete, previously unpublished string quartets by Hans Henkemans.
