Formed in early 2024 at the Royal Academy of Music, the Karelia Quartet brings together violinists Emil Hartikainen and Megan Yang, violist Felix Pascoe and cellist Daniel Schultz. The ensemble has quickly distinguished itself through musical depth, imaginative programming and a growing international presence. Selected as Kirckman Concert Society Artists for the 2026–27 season, the quartet will tour extensively across the UK, and from 2026 to 2029 takes part in the MERITAcubed programme, engaging in collaborative projects throughout Europe.
Prizewinner at several international competitions, the quartet has performed at major venues including St James’s Palace and Wigmore Hall. Its artistic development is further shaped by residencies and academies such as the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival and the Danish String Quartet Academy, and by close mentorship with leading chamber musicians. The Karelia Quartet is an ECMA Aspirant for 2025–26.
