Named after French artist Gustave Doré, the Doré Quartet is an Italian string quartet founded in 2021 at the Conservatorium Maastricht by Ilaria Taioli and Samuele Di Gioia (violins), Salvatore Emanuel Borrelli (viola) and Caterina Vannoni (cello). The ensemble has quickly gained international recognition, performing across Europe at institutions and festivals such as Società del Quartetto di Milano, Bologna Festival, Orlando Festival and the Muziekgebouw.
Prizewinner of several international competitions, the quartet has received a scholarship from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Its artistic development is shaped by extensive advanced training at major European academies and masterclasses with leading chamber music figures. In 2024, Doré Quartet was entrusted with four historical instruments on loan from Fondazione Pro Canale and was selected to join the Le Dimore del Quartetto network.
