Cecilia Quartet
Portugal
Formed by Maxence Mouriès and Margarida Campos (violins), Alice Peixinho (viola) and Bernardo Ferreira (cello), the Cecília Quartet was founded at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo under the guidance of cellist Filipe Quaresma. The ensemble has recently been awarded second prize at the Prémio Jovens Músicos – RTP/Antena 2 and at the Gilberta Paiva Competition.
The quartet is dedicated to commissioning new works by contemporary composers while rediscovering rarely performed repertoire, fostering a dialogue between innovation and tradition within the string quartet canon. This artistic vision is supported by four musicians with strong individual profiles, active as soloists and orchestral players in major European contexts. With its first agency contract signed with Artway, the Cecília Quartet enters a new phase of artistic development on the national and international stage.
