Hubert de Launay is a master luthier and a musical instruments restorer, specialising in making and restoring instruments from the violin and gamba family. Over the past 18 years, he has worked on high-quality instruments in several leading workshops across Europe. He has a strong interest in the Dutch violin-making school of the 17th and 18th centuries and, in collaboration with the Hendrik Jacobs Foundation, is working on a book and an exhibition dedicated to these fascinating makers and their instruments.
