MERITA First Edition: Watch the Trailer of an Extraordinary Journey

After three years of music, artistic exchange, mobility, and collaboration across Europe and beyond, the first project edition of MERITA Platform comes to a close, and we are proud to share the official trailer celebrating this extraordinary journey.
MERITA was born with a clear vision: to support emerging European string quartets while bringing chamber music back into dialogue with Europe’s cultural heritage. What followed was a vibrant and evolving network of musicians, historic houses, festivals, concert societies, cultural institutions, and audiences connected through shared artistic experiences.
Through residencies, concerts, training activities, and international collaborations, MERITA creates opportunities for young chamber music ensembles to grow artistically and professionally, generating new future engagements and providing a platform for long-term career development, while experimenting with new ways of engaging audiences and cultural spaces.
Over the course of the project:
- 38 string quartets and 152 musicians took part in the platform;
- 42 artistic residencies were organised across 16 European countries;
- 199 concerts were performed in 27 countries and more than 140 venues;
- over 14,000 audience members attended MERITA events;
- countless collaborations, friendships, and artistic projects were born along the way.
The trailer captures fragments of this collective adventure: the music, the places, the people, the backstage moments, the energy of performances, and the atmosphere that made MERITA such a unique experience for everyone involved.
More than a summary of activities, this video is a reflection of the community that is growing around the platform, a community where emerging artists, cultural heritage, and audiences meet to create new possibilities for chamber music in Europe, both today and in the future.
As this first edition concludes, we look ahead with excitement to the future of the platform and to MERITAcubed, the next chapter of this growing European ecosystem for chamber music.
