Strings Across Time: A Moving Musical Encounter with Quartetto Adorno in Tornio
News | June 24, 2025
The Council of the Finnish Local Heritage Federation held their meeting in Tornio on 23-24 May. During the evening reception, organized by the City of Tornio, we had the pleasure of enjoying a MERITA concert, organized by Europa Nostra and coordinated by Le Dimore del Quartetto.
We didn’t quite know what to expect, but the experience was way more touching than we could imagine: Quartetto Adorno, with their beautiful string instruments, performed around the audience, with gramophone playing and the love letters from the past in the middle, all wrapped together with lovely music and emotions. Musicians’ enthusiasm made it even more special, we all could see and feel that they played for us but also for all the great composers of the past and the future. Coming from different corners of Europe and from different cultures, in the concert we were united by music, melodies, notes and rhythm, and the unique stories behind them.
Members of our Council were very happy and thankful to have received this experience, and also very impressed by the professionalism and talent shown by Quartetto Adorno. Not an everyday meeting program at all!
