Meraki Quartet’s Second MERITA residency at Tous en Sons Festival in Marseille

News | June 17, 2025

From December 6 to 16, 2024, the Meraki Quartet had the incredible opportunity to take part in a second artistic residency as part of the MERITA platform and Pro Quartet, hosted in Marseille, France. This 10-day stay, with a focused 5-day residency from December 9 to 13, culminated in our first MERITA concert on December 15 during the prestigious Tous en Sons Festival.

Thanks to the support of Merita, Pro Quartet, Pic Télémaque, and Tous en Sons Festival, we were able to spend a week immersed in artistic development under the mentorship of the brilliant Violaine Fournier and Francesca Bonato. Their continuous presence and guidance were invaluable in shaping our work, pushing our project to a new level of artistic maturity.

Throughout the residency, we engaged in daily rehearsals, project filming, and attended various concerts that were part of the festival’s rich program. Being surrounded by inspiring performances and supportive professionals created an environment that nurtured both creativity and collaboration.

The concert on December 15 was a true inspiration for us – our debut within the Merita framework – and we felt truly at home in the concert hall. Alongside the work, we also had the joy of discovering the vibrant city of Marseille and connecting with a beautiful artistic community.

This residency and concert in Marseille have opened many new opportunities for us. One of the greatest opportunities that has come from this experience is that, thanks to this project, we had the chance to apply for the Yam Award, part of Jeunesses Musicales International.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this experience possible: Merita, Pro Quartet, Pic Télémaque, Tous en Sons Festival, Laurence Hebrard, director of “Tous en sons festival”, our talented cameraman Gabriele Alessandrini, our amazing host Élodie Rama, and most of all, our mentors Violaine Fournier and Francesca Bonato. This unforgettable journey has not only strengthened our quartet but also inspired us to keep growing and dreaming.

Thank you for this memorable chapter in our story!
