La Ferme de Villefavard

This model farm, built at the beginning of the 20th century in the heart of Limousin, is the 20th French site to receive the “Cultural Meeting Center” label. Primarily dedicated to classical music, the Ferme de Villefavard in Limousin is developing an ambitious cultural project rooted in a rural area with a rich history, in the heart of the Basse-Marche region. By affirming what we have in common as the founding element of the project, the Ferme de Villefavard proposes to mobilize the artists welcomed to the region to question the stories to be told and the ways of transmitting them in order to encourage the inhabitants to take ownership of them. Writing this new narrative over the long term therefore invites us to meet the inhabitants of this region to question its singularities, its rough edges, and its possible futures. Keen to initiate an artistic approach and revitalization of heritage that respects cultural rights, the team at the Ferme de Villefavard in Limousin has made supporting creation, promoting heritage, and cultural action the priorities of its development.
