Dora Piano Trio

Founded in 2024 in Basel, the Dora Piano Trio brings together violinist Sofia De Falco, cellist Axelle Richez and pianist Rocco Michela, who met during their studies in Lausanne and at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. In November 2024, the trio won First Prize at the ORPHEUS Chamber Music Competition, and in 2025 they were finalists at the Brahms International Chamber Music Competition.
Based in Switzerland, the trio regularly performs in major Swiss festivals including the Musikdorf Ernen, Swiss Chamber Music, Zunftkonzerte Zürich, Davos Festival, Piano Trio Fest Bern, Vitznau Musikfestival.
In 2025, they joined Le Dimore del Quartetto.
The Dora Piano Trio is particularly interested in researching and discovering lesser-known repertoire and combining it with major works.
The ensemble chose to name itself in homage to Dora Pejačević, which chamber music deeply inspired their artistic vision.
