Cecilia Quartet
Portugal
- Maxence Mouriès, Violin
- Margarida Campos, Violin
- Filipa Rodrigues, Viola
- Bernardo Ferreira, Cello
Formed in Porto by Maxence Mouriès and Margarida Campos (violin), Filipa Rodrigues (viola) and Bernardo Ferreira (cello), the Cecília Quartet was awarded 2nd Prize at the Prémio Jovens Músicos (RTP/Antena 2) in 2025 and at the Gilberta Paiva Competition in 2024. The ensemble stands out for its intensity, precision and elegance, merging individual voices into a unified sound.
One of the quartet’s main goals is to commission new works by contemporary composers, expanding the string quartet repertoire and fostering dialogue between creators and performers. Alongside this, the group explores rarely performed works such as Ligeti and Bartók, while engaging with canonical repertoire by composers including Mozart, Beethoven and Shostakovich.
Before some concerts, the quartet introduces a short moment of dialogue with the audience, offering context and encouraging active listening. Now represented by Artway, the Cecília Quartet is developing its presence on national and international stages.
