PROJECT
Hidden Gems
The project is designed to break down traditional barriers to classical music by re-imagining the concert experience.
By using distinct spaces, engaging directly with the audience and incorporating elements that are both enjoyable and accessible, the PuraCorda ensemble aims to broaden the appeal of classical music, making it more inclusive and appealing to a diverse audience.
The ensemble shares stories about the pieces and composers, with a focus on revitalising neglected works and highlighting female composers.
Through the use of gut strings and adherence to historically informed performance practices, the ensemble sheds new light on well-known compositions, offering fresh and surprising interpretations that captivate audiences.
