MERITAcubed Presentation at SQBA with ADAM Quartet

28 January 14:15

MERITAcubed will be presented by Le Dimore del Quartetto during the fifth edition of the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam, following the concert by the ADAM Quartet featuring the programme Future Echoes at Grote Zaal of Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam.

The Concert: Future Echoes

The ADAM Quartet presents Future Echoes, a project in which tradition and innovation converge through a programme combining music, voice and light. At its core is Arnold Schönberg’s String Quartet No. 2, framed by Renaissance repertoire and the world premiere of Her Resistance for string quartet and soprano by Vinthya Perinpanathan.

The programme brings together past, present and future, drawing inspiration from the concept of the “harmony of the spheres”, understood as an ideal relationship between musical structures and the cosmos. Perinpanathan’s newly commissioned work pays tribute to Schönberg’s groundbreaking innovations while reflecting on the evolution of musical expression across centuries.

The concert features soprano Elisabeth Hetherington, winner of the Dutch Music Prize 2024, and includes a lighting design that enhances the immersive listening experience.
